After stereoradiotherapy, I will start bio-chemo therapy to address both the Lung Metastases, and any cancer cells that might be circulating in the body. The primary drugs for use in Immunotherapy (of melanoma) are Interferon and Interluken-2. Generally, interferon (which is also naturally occuring in the body) teaches the body's immune system to recognize and attack the melanoma cells. Below is a list of therapies that might also come in to play.

I have a meeting with the melanoma clinic the end of this week to discuss the various therapies.

Tenzolomide & Thalidamide in Patients with Advance Melanoma (I was refered to this trial by a a group in Boston as a potential candidate)

Reading articles can be incredibly depressing if you pay too much attention to the the survival rates. These statistics, even if done well, are hugely dependant on age. This link will give you some idea of the mortality rates as a function of age for cutaneous melanoma. This link will help you find mortality rates for other cancer types, as well as a ton of information from the National Cancer Center.
